Here are five tips on preparing to have an epic first shoot in front of the camera. PREPARATION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS IN YOUR PERSONAL PHOTOSHOOT!
1. Practice posing
For a photoshoot, even top models practice their expressions and pose in front of the mirror. It’s important to know exactly how it feels to smile, laugh, frown, or pout. Posing in front of a mirror is the best thing you can do before your shoot. You can figure out your best angles and know what will happen when you try it. It might seem awkward at first, but with practice, posing will become more natural. I will be directing you also the day of the session but your practice will make it easier for the two of us!
2. Pre-Shoot Details
It is very important to pay attention to detail when preparing to shoot. Compared to the human eye, the camera can capture subtle imperfections in more detail, so make sure your legs have been shaved and your nails are not chipped before shooting.
3. Be well rested
It is well known that sleep is the key to a healthy body; however, before your photo session, this is something you cannot skip! Tiredness shows on your skin and your face, and then it seeps into your attitude. Therefore make sure you are well-rested before the session.
4. Remember to feel confident
You will become a great model when you feel confident in your own skin. Feeling great in your own skin does affect your physical appearance. You’ll become a great model with confidence.
5. Relax
You should expect to be nervous during the shoot. It happens to all of us at one point or another. It’s useful to meet up with the photographer beforehand to discuss what type of images you’re each looking for. Hopefully, you have already discussed this beforehand.
